The ALCOHOL FREE 60 CHALLENGE

Alcohol Free Sixty is a 60-day challenge to help reset your relationship with alcohol.

It’s for anyone wanting to understand why they drink, the impact of their drinking, and explore whether they want to take a longer break.

Based on the content of the Amazon 5* rated book Do I Drink Too Much? Stop Everyday Drinking From Becoming a Life-Limiting Addiction, this challenge will help you re-evaluate your drinking using the latest scientific understanding of alcohol on mind, body and behaviour.

The challenge has been developed and will be delivered by Dr. Paul Chadwick, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and world-renowned expert in behaviour change, and Suzie Davis, NLP Master Practitioner. Suzie and Paul have been running a highly successful private Alcohol-Free peer support community for over three years. This is the first time they are making this expertise available to a wider audience.

How do I sign up?

There are two ways to take part:

Email Only Challenge (free)

Participants will get a daily email containing a link to a video with the ‘lesson of the day’ and suggestions about how to apply this to their own life.

Email Plus Group Challenge (£10 donation required)

Participants will get the daily email and video with a downloadable workbook to help them apply the information to their own lives. They will also have access to the ‘Alcohol Free 60’ private Facebook group. The group provides the opportunity to:

  • Share your experience with others undertaking the challenge in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental atmosphere.
  • Participate in weekly live Q and A sessions with the facilitators – recorded so you can access the content on demand.

Why is there a fee?

We have decided to require a small donation to access the group to create a safe space for those wanting the additional support of the community.

A small donation protects the space from bots and fake accounts and ensures that people who join the community are invested in the challenge.

Research suggests that a light drinker saves approximately £118 from taking part in Dry January and a heavy drinker could save as much as £400.

Why is the challenge called Alcohol Free 60?

It’s simple – we are inviting you to not drink for 60 days! After that, we will ask you whether you want to continue not drinking until you complete a full year – 365 days! The 360 concept also describes our holisitc approach to understanding alcohol consumption.  We look at the biological, psychological and social aspects of drinking and not drinking, and how they relate to each other.

And yes, we know it should probably be called Alcohol Free Sixty-Five, but what’s five days between friends!

What will I get?

  • Daily videos, recorded specifically for this challenge and tailored to each phase of the process of giving up alcohol for 60 days.
  • Daily prompts and motivational messages to help improve your physical and emotional wellbeing and develop and nurture your motivation to complete the challenge.
  • An evidence and neuroscience-based approach to understanding and responding to urges, cravings and other triggers to drink.
  • A non-secular, non-dogma, science-based approach, based on the latest thinking in clinical psychology, neuroscience, behaviour change and the science of addiction.

How does it work?

By logging into the group every day, you will receive:

  • Daily videos explaining what is happening to your mind, brain and body as you progress through your two months of not drinking, and guidance, tools and tips on how to respond.
  • Evidence-based techniques to help you understand and manage urges, cravings and other triggers that might throw you off path.
  • How to get the most out of your Alcohol Free 60 experience.
  • Polls, mini-challenges and other calls to action to help you keep yourself and others on track.
  • Practical and moral support from your facilitators, moderators and fellow community members.
  • The opportunity to form meaningful and lasting connections with others on the same journey.

Email only participants will get many of the same benefits, but without the community aspect. Having spent many years trying (and failing) to tackle our drinking on our own, we feel confident that the group/community aspect of AF60 is very powerful. However, we also know that not everyone wants, needs or is ready for that kind of experience. And what is important to us is that we try and meet people where they are, not where others think they should be.

Why sign up to this challenge?

There are plenty of alcohol-free challenges out there, and many contain similar elements. Our approach is...

  • Scientifically proven ways to keep you focused and accountable on your behaviour change journey, developed by a world-renowned authority on the science of behaviour change.
  • Based on the 5-star rated book Do I Drink Too Much? A book specifically designed to help you explore your relationship with alcohol in a science-based, non-preachy, honest and accessible way.
  • Developed and facilitated by a qualified mental health professional with lived experience of giving up alcohol and over 30 years of experience in designing, delivering and evaluating lifestyle behaviour change groups.
  • Welcoming to everyone regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, health, cultural background or shoe size! We aim to create a warm, kind, funny place that brings people together around a shared goal whilst also respecting and embracing their differences.

LAUNCHING IN LATE DECEMBER 2025
